Human lives include many challenges. Most people struggle from time to time and some people experience life events or ongoing situations which mean they find it hard to cope. If this sounds like you, you're not alone and you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.
As a person-centred counsellor I believe in the power of empathy and understanding. My approach is centred around you, your experiences, and your unique journey towards healing and growth. I am passionate about providing a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your emotions, gain self-understanding and find healing.
Change can be difficult, even the positive life transitions we have chosen can be stressful, whilst some major life transitions such as starting university, divorce, retirement, menopause or entering the “empty nest” phase of life may cause a significant amount of stress.
I can provide a secure base from which you can explore and process these life events enabling you to become better able to adjust to these changes, helping you connect with your resilience.
Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life and during times of stress feeling anxious can be perfectly normal. But for some the worries and the feelings of anxiety are constant and can affect daily life. Often anxiety and depression co-exist with one leading to the other, becoming overwhelming.
I offer compassionate support for individuals coping with anxiety and depression, enabling you to better manage negative thoughts, process difficult experiences and develop new ways to change your reaction to them.
Pregnancy is often portrayed as the one of the happiest times of our lives but maybe for you it is challenging, isolating and emotionally complicated. Or perhaps you’ve experienced baby loss, suffered a miscarriage, are struggling with fertility issues or have had to make the difficult decision to have a termination.
There are no easy answers when faced with these experiences and it can be hard to talk to others. I can provide a safe space for you to process your mixed emotions and find healing during this sensitive time.
Bereavement is a very emotionally distressing experience and it’s normal to experience a range of emotions, including anger, sadness, loneliness, guilt and anxiety. There is no right or wrong way to feel.
I provide a compassionate space for you to process your grief and honour your emotions. Enabling you to come to terms with your loss.
Everyone who chooses to be in a relationship will experience problems from time to time and relationship problems can be tough.
Whether you're facing communication issues, conflicts, or emotional distance in your relationships, I can help you to better understand what's happening in your relationship, understand your feelings and find the right way forward for you.
